Don't you just love it when inspiration seeks you out, in lieu of you being on the hunt for it? Thank you, Shutterbean, for reading my mind last week.
Over the past year, I've started reciting a little monologue at work that goes something like: "Sometimes shit sucks. And that's okay. But admit that it sucks. Then, work through it." (Being politically correct is not my forte). But on the flipside, not acknowledging the shittiness when it unarguably exists can lead to lack of credibility and losing people's trust along the way.
That's why Julie Plake McMinn's mantra is simply great. It acknowledges: I'm in the middle of something that I do not particularly care for. But the end will come, as long as I acknowledge that this is tough and work through it.
